# Get Usage

Free, and a good first call: it tells you whether your key works without spending anything. Days and months follow the Europe/Brussels calendar. `balance` is the wallet, or null when it cannot be read.

Free, and a good first call: it tells you whether your key works without spending anything. Days and months follow the Europe/Brussels calendar. `balance` is the wallet, or null when it cannot be read.

`balance` is the wallet, or null when it cannot be read. `today.credits_remaining` is what is left of today's cap (`daily_limit` minus `credits_used`, never below 0). When the Signals API is open, `month` also includes `by_meter`: `signals.search`, `leads.search`, `person.enrich` and `monitors.mentions`, in that order, each with `requests` and `credits_used`, including zeros.

## Authentication

Send your API key as a Bearer token: `Authorization: Bearer gtk_…`. Create the key under **API Access → API Keys**. A missing, invalid or revoked key is **401**, including while an API is closed. A valid key while the Signals API or the Company API is closed for your organization answers **404**, the same body as an unknown path. Every response includes `FounderMCP-Api-Version` and `FounderMCP-Request-Id`.

## Response

- **`balance`** `integer | null` — Credits left in the wallet. Null when the wallet cannot be read.
- **`balance`** `integer | null` — Credits left in the wallet. Null when the wallet cannot be read.
- **`today`** `object` — `credits_used`, `credits_remaining` (daily limit minus credits used today, never below 0), `daily_limit` and `resets_at` (ISO 8601).
- **`month`** `object` — `credits_used`, `requests` and `by_endpoint`: per endpoint, `requests` and `credits_used`.
- **`month.by_meter`** `object` — Present only when the Signals API is open. The four meters, in order, even at zero.

## Credits

Free. This call never uses credits.

## Errors

- **401** `authentication_error` — The Authorization header is missing, or the key is unknown or revoked.
- **403** `permission_error` — API access is not part of your plan, or your account is suspended.
- **429** `rate_limit_error` — More than 60 requests per minute, or more than 3 at the same time, on one key. Wait for the Retry-After header.
- **500** `internal_error` — Something went wrong on our side.
